Activities & Programs

Horseback Riding

It is the philosophy of the ranch to provide a horsemanship and riding program which stresses the importance of patience, respect and mutual understanding between horse and human. The ranch offers a variety of horses ranging from gentle to spirited, and horses are assigned to guests according to their riding ability for the duration of their stay. Each day, guests may choose a slow, medium or fast trail ride or participate in one-on-one training in either the indoor or outdoor arena. The week culminates with a competitive and entertaining Saturday afternoon complete with adult equestrian skill events while children exhibit the horsemanship skills they have acquired throughout the week.

Children's Program

Offering fun and educational activities, the comprehensive summer and winter programs at C Lazy U are organized by creative and energetic counselors. Children are divided into three groups according to age (3 to 5 year olds; 6 to 12 year olds; and teens), and eat lunch and dinner with their peers and counselors as part of the program. In an effort to maintain a balance between family and adult time, children enjoy breakfast with their parents and rejoin them in the evening for after-dinner activities.

Shopping

Luis Old Place, a Western boutique, has a wide range of souvenirs and gifts including cowboy hats, fine Indian jewelry crafted by the area's best jewelers, designer Western clothing and sundries, to name a few. Guests also can travel into the town of Granby or Winter Park for off-site shopping excursions.

Complimentary Shuttle Service

The ranch offers complimentary shuttle service for all off-ranch excursions, including the mountain resort areas (Winter Park and Silver Creek), snowmobiling and rafting locations and golf course.
