Colorado Horseback Riding for Kids
Drowsy Water Ranch, Colorado
Our
Rangerider program, for kids 6 thru 13, is built around an
instruction based Colorado horseback riding program where kids practice
skills
in our horseback ridging arena before setting out to the Colorado
backcountry on their morning and
afternoon horseback trail rides. These kid rider’s workup to
loping and
all day horseback rides as their abilities improve. Before and
after the horseback rides our counselors have other group activities to
do such as an
obstacle course, horse brushing, swimming, hiking, lassoing a steer
head, and other group activities.
Bar Lazy J, Colorado
Range
Rider Kids (ages 7-12) are assigned a horse for the week and horseback ride
daily with the kid’s wranglers. The kid’s counselors will
lead the Lil’ Buckaroos (ages 3-6) on horseback in our back pasture.
Latigo Trails, Colorado
Kids 8-13 will spend a great deal of time horseback riding. We emphasize
instruction, and we structure fun horseback riding activities with sufficient
challenge to ensure that these kid riders are improving their horseback riding
skills while having a good time in Colorado. We encourage kids to participate
in all of the week's activities - trail rides, square-dancing, nature
walks, swimming, fishing, hayrides, etc. They may eat meals with their
family, or they may eat at a separate table with their peers and counselors.
C Lazy U, Colorado
Kids 6 and up experience great Colorado horseback riding. There is a balance of family time and adventure time: during breakfast
and after-dinner, families spend time together - then the kids are "on
the ranch" the remainder of the day.
Aspen Canyon Ranch, Colorado
Daily horseback rides for older kids and pony rides for little ones.
King Mountain Ranch, Colorado
Kids who don’t have the horseback riding skills to
go on trail rides will
get the chance to ride in the arena with our wranglers’
assistance and practice. The rest of the day is occupied
with arts and crafts, games, swimming, coloring activities
and many more events organized by the kids' counselors.
