For over 70 years this 700 acre ranch, nestled in its own private mountain valley, has provided folks from around the world with authentic western vacations. Under the same ownership/management for 34 years, Fosha Family's Drowsy Water Ranch has developed a reputation for quality Dude Ranch vacations. The Ranch has programs for children from infants to teenagers with plenty of activities for parents and grandparents alike. Singles and couples are welcomed also. All of the guest accommodations (log cabins and lodge rooms) have been completely remodeled and redecorated in recent years.

At Drowsy Water Ranch we offer a vacation package with a schedule of enjoyable activities for all ages with an emphasis on service and quality. Horseback riding, meals and entertainment are our three major scheduled activities. Life's mighty informal at the Ranch with jeans, boots and casual clothes the daily dress. From the moment you arrive we promise nothing less than real down-home hospitality amidst unforgettable mountain scenery. From the beginner to the most experienced rider, our herd of over 95 quality horses will provide you with a mount suited to your abilities. Our proper instruction along with a variety of terrain for the guided fast and slow rides provides an enjoyable riding experience for all.
Our reasonable rates plus taxes and tips include daily maid service and all activities. This makes budgeting your trip easier and eliminates many of the "extra costs" found in other vacations. We also have early and late season discount weeks and non-rider rates available.

Your Family Dude Ranch Vacation - The Ranch has programs for children from infants to teenagers with plenty of activities for parents and grandparents alike. Singles and couples are welcomed also. We have a complete program of horseback riding, swimming, horseshoes, steak fryes, trout fishing, western dancing, jeep trips, song fests, campfires, hayrides, carnival, pack trips, staff entertainment, gymkhana rodeos, raft trips, children's programs, nearby golf, hunting and much more -- but it is your vacation so you may take part in whatever you like.

All rates are American Plan and include accommodations in Log cabins or rooms in the Lodge, all with private bath, all meals, your personal horse for the week, children’s supervised programs, fishing, use of heated pool and whirlpool, and all ranch activities; hayrides, dancing, carnival, staff shows, campfires, singalongs, river float trips and more. Golf packages are also extra. NOTE: Persons weighing over 215 pounds may be limited to walking rides.
Rates are subject to state sales tax (3.9% subject to change) and Grand county lodging tax ($9.50 per person weekly). Gratuities are left to your discretion. A 12% to 18% tip is customary if our staff serves you well.
Reservations
Reservations during our peak season must be made for weekly stays beginning on a Sunday afternoon and running through the following Saturday lunch (our weeks activities run from Sunday evening through Saturday morning). To obtain reservations; telephone to confirm available space, we can then hold a telephone reservation for a period of 7 days pending the receipt of your deposit by personal check, Mastercard or Visa. Our deposit requirement is $400.00 per person. Your deposit will be refunded (less a 8% service fee) if notice of cancellation is received 60 days in advance of arrival date. If less than 60 day notice is given, every effort will be made to replace your reservation, and if successful, we shall gladly refund your deposit. If you find it necessary to leave before your departure date, your deposit will then apply to the unused portion of your reservation. Check-in time is after 2:30 P.M.
